Accomplishments

 

Serving the Community with a Strong Voice in Council

- seven years as Councillor and three years as Mayor with an exemplary attendance record

- active, well-prepared participant in all committee and Council meetings

- regular consultation with citizens of many interests, ages, employment and family situations

- prompt responses to all emails and telephone calls

- professional and productive working relationship with Town staff  and most council members

- active Council representative on a number of community committees and boards

- dedicated to ensuring that our citizens get ‘bang for their (tax) buck’, and that tax increases are minimal and justifiable

 

Serving the Community as a Dedicated Volunteer

- founding member and dedicated supporter of Arts Carleton Place and the arts community

- founding member, past-president, and current coordinator of the Carleton Place and District Horticultural Society

- founding member and former chair of the Carleton Place in Bloom and WinterLights Committees, leading these groups to obtaining Provincial 5-Bloom and National 5-Star ratings for our community

-   volunteer at the Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum

-  active member of St. James Anglican Church

-  member of the Sister City Committee

 

Recognition of Achievements

- Carleton Place Citizen of the Year 1999

- Volunteer of the Year for both the Carleton Place and District Horticultural Society and the Carleton Place and Beckwith  Historical Society

- recipient of a Certificate of Achievement in the Ontario Heritage Trust’s Heritage Community Recognition Program, 2009

- awarded Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal, 2012
